The La Mirada City Council and La Mirada Redevelopment
Agency hold their regular meetings concurrently. Following appearances, presentations, proclamations or
appointments, any public hearings scheduled by either the City Council or
Agency will be held. At the
conclusion of public hearings, the Redevelopment Agency will conduct its
scheduled business. Items for City
Council consideration will commence following the Redevelopment Agency portion
of the Agenda. In compliance with
the Americans with Disabilities Act, if you need special assistance to participate
in a City meeting or other services offered by this City, please call (562)
943-0131 and contact the City ClerkÕs office or the Personnel Department. Notification at least 48 hours prior to
the meeting or time when services are needed will assist the City staff in
assuring that reasonable arrangements can be made to provide accessibility to
the meeting or service.
All cell phones, pagers and other audible
electronic devices should be in their off or silent position while the meeting
is in session.
To address the Council on
an Agenda item other than a Public Hearing or during Public Comments, please
fill out a ÒRequest to address CouncilÓ card and place in the container before

recommended CITY COUNCIL read the proclamation and present it to Larry Sandoval,

– NATIONAL SAFE BOATING WEEK – MAY 19-25, 2007 – It is recommended CITY COUNCIL read the proclamation and present
it to Harriet Howard of Flotilla 58 La Mirada Coast Guard.

TO COMMUNITY SERVICES COMMISSION – RANDY GRISHAM – It is recommended CITY COUNCIL make the appointment and direct
the City Clerk to administer the oath.

2. MEETING MINUTES - It is recommended AGENCY approve the minutes of the regular meeting of April 24, 2007 and the study session meeting of May 1, 2007.
3. It is recommended AGENCY approve the warrant register dated May 2, 2007 in
the total amount of $6,097,072.56.

4. MEETING MINUTES - It is recommended CITY COUNCIL approve the minutes of the regular meeting of April 24, 2007 and the study session meeting of May 1, 2007.
5. REJECTION OF CLAIM – JOHN HUERTA – It is recommended CITY COUNCIL deny the subject claim.
6. REJECTION OF CLAIM – CYNTHIA PALOMO – It is recommended CITY COUNCIL deny the subject claim.
7. CASH CONTRACT NO. 2006-04 – SPLASH! LA MIRADA REGIONAL AQUATICS CENTER REQUEST FOR PARTIAL PAYMENT – It is recommended CITY COUNCIL authorize partial payment to Shaw & Sons in the amount of $277,621.65; to TB Penick & Sons, Inc. in the amount of $195,319.00; to Winegardner Masonry, Inc. in the amount of $142,308.00; and to Shade America in the amount of $99,004.68.
8. CASH CONTRACT NO. 2007-01 – IMPERIAL HIGHWAY STREET IMPROVEMENTS FROM OCASO AVENUE TO EAST OF SANTA GERTRUDES AVENUE – APPROVAL OF PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS - It is recommended CITY COUNCIL approve the plans and specifications for this project; authorize the City Clerk to advertise for sealed bids; and find that pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act of 1970, the project is categorically exempt under Section 15301 Class 1(c) and will have no significant effect on the environment.
9. PURCHASE OF REPLACEMENT TRANSIT VEHICLES – It is recommended CITY COUNCIL approve the purchase of three transit replacement vehicles in a total amount of $165,000.00.
10. COMMUNICATIONS FACILITY LEASE WITH GLOBAL TOWER, LLC - LOCATION: LA MIRADA THEATRE OF THE PERFORMING ARTS, 14900 LA MIRADA BOULEVARD – It is recommended CITY COUNCIL approve the Communications Facility Lease with Global Tower, LLC, subject to the lease agreement terms recommended by staff; and, authorize the Mayor to execute the lease on behalf of the City.
11. UNITED STATES ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS AGREEMENT TO CONDUCT A DRAINAGE STUDY – It is recommended CITY COUNCIL direct the City Attorney to prepare the Agreement with the United States Army Corps of Engineers to conduct a drainage study; and, authorize the City Manager to execute the Agreement on behalf of the City.
ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS
12. AWARD OF CONTRACT AND APPROVAL OF RESOLUTION NO. 07-11 AUTHORIZING A BUDGET AMENDMENT FOR WEBSITE UPGRADE SERVICES – It is recommended CITY COUNCIL accept the proposal for website upgrade services from Vision Internet for $51,620.00; direct the City Attorney to prepare an agreement; authorize the Mayor to execute the agreement on behalf of the City; and, adopt Resolution No. 07-11 amending the CityÕs operating budget in the amount of $52,000.00.
13. It is
recommended CITY COUNCIL approve the warrant register dated May 2, 2007 in the total
amount of 689,804.04.
