The La Mirada City Council and La Mirada Redevelopment Agency hold their regular meetings concurrently. Following appearances, presentations, proclamations or appointments, any public hearings scheduled by either the City Council or Agency will be held. At the conclusion of public hearings, the Redevelopment Agency will conduct its scheduled business. Items for City Council consideration will commence following the Redevelopment Agency portion of the Agenda. In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, if you need special assistance to participate in a City meeting or other services offered by this City, please call (562) 943-0131 and contact the City Clerk’s office or the Personnel Department. Notification at least 48 hours prior to the meeting or time when services are needed will assist the City staff in assuring that reasonable arrangements can be made to provide accessibility to the meeting or service..

 

All cell phones, pagers and other audible electronic devices should be in their off or silent position while the meeting is in session.

 

To address the Council on an Agenda item other than a Public Hearing or during Public Comments, please fill out a “Request to address Council” card and place in the container before the start of meeting or as soon as possible after the meeting starts.

I.          INTRODUCTION OF NEW FULL-TIME EMPLOYEE – LORI THOMPSON – It is recommended CITY COUNCIL welcome the City’s newest employee and present her with gifts.

 

 

II.         CPRS AWARDS FOR HELPING HANDS AND SENIOR MENTORING PROGRAM – It is recommended CITY COUNCIL accept the awards from the California Parks and Recreation Society (CPRS) presented by Communiy Services staff Roberta Gonzales and Emeline Moya.

 

III.       PRESENTATION OF AWARDS FOR “LOVE A TREE” POSTER CONTEST – It is recommended CITY COUNCIL recognize the winners and that the Mayor and Community Services Commission Chair Susan Savage make the appropriate presentations.

 

IV.       PROCLAMATION – ARBOR DAY – It is recommended CITY COUNCIL proclaim March 27, 2007 as Arbor Day in the City of La Mirada.

 

REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY

 

CONSENT CALENDAR

 

1.         MEETING MINUTES - It is recommended AGENCY approve the minutes of the regular meeting of March 13, 2007 and the study session meeting of March 20, 2007.

 

 

ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS

 

2.         RESOLUTION NO. R-517 – AN AMENDMENT TO THE BYLAWS OF THE LA MIRADA REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY - It is recommended AGENCY adopt said Resolution revising the Agency Bylaws pertaining to the designation of Agency officers.

 

 

WARRANTS AND DEMANDS

 

3.         It is recommended AGENCY approve the warrant register dated March 21, 2007 in the total amount of $3,205.89.

4.         MEETING MINUTES - It is recommended CITY COUNCIL approve the minutes of the regular meeting of March 13, 2007 and the study session meeting of March 20, 2007.

 

5.         CASH CONTRACT NO. 2004-03 BEACH BOULEVARD MEDIAN AND PARKWAY IMPROVEMENTS – It is recommended CITY COUNCIL approve Change Order No. 1 and authorize partial payment to Belaire-West Landscape, Inc. in the amount of $55,871.10.

 

6.         CASH CONTRACT NO. 2005-02 CITYWIDE SIGNAGE REPLACEMENT PROGRAM – It is recommended CITY COUNCIL approve Change Orders Nos. 1, 2 and 3, and authorize partial payment to Fluoresco Lighting & Sign Maintenance Corporation in the amount of $146,972.74.

 

7.         CASH CONTRACT NO. 2006-04 SPLASH! LA MIRADA REGIONAL AQUATICS CENTER – It is recommended CITY COUNCIL authorize partial payment to Inland Pacific Tile, Inc. in the amount of $5,364.90; to Shaw & Sons in the amount of $40,114.80; and, to Terra Pave, Inc. in the amount of $346,171.86.

 

8.         AMENDMENT TO PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT FOR ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTING SERVICES WITH KEETON KREITZER CONSULTING – It is recommended CITY COUNCIL accept and approve the proposed amendment to the contract with Keeton Kreitzer Consulting for an amount not to exceed $53,000.00; direct the City Attorney to prepare the necessary amendment to the contract; and, authorize the Mayor to execute the contract amendment on behalf of the City.

 

 

NEW BUSINESS

 

9.         PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT FOR DESIGN IMPROVEMENT CONSULTATION FOR SPLASH! LA MIRADA REGIONAL AQUATICS CENTER AND COMMUNITY GYMNASIUM EXTERIOR – It is recommended CITY COUNCIL  direct the City Attorney to prepare the Professional Services Agreement for Conceptual Design Architectural Services with La Canada Design Group at a cost not to exceed $53.258.00, and authorize the City Manager to execute the Agreement on behalf of the City.

 

 

ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS

 

10.         RESOLUTION NO. 07-08 – REQUEST FOR SPECIAL EVENT PARKING FOR THE 4-LA MIRADA KIDS CARNIVAL – It is recommended CITY COUNCIL  adopt Resolution No. 07-08 approving temporary, special event parking on Santa Gertrudes Avenue from April 20 through April 22, 2007.

 

11.         RESOLUTION NO. 07-09 – APPOINTMENT OF CITY TREASURER AND DEPUTY CITY TREASURER– It is recommended CITY COUNCIL  adopt said Resolution designating the Administrative Services Director or Interim Administrative Services Director, if one is currently serving, as City Treasurer and the Accountant II as Deputy City Treasurer.

12.       WARRANT REGISTERS It is recommended CITY COUNCIL approve the warrant register dated March 21, 2007 in the total amount of $976,766.62.
