National Night Out Against Crime to be Held August 3

Post Date:07/26/2017 9:39 AM

La Mirada's annual National Night Out event to take a stand against crime will be held on Thursday, August 3, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at La Mirada Regional Park. The event will be held in conjunction with the Concert in the Park.

The National Association of Town Watch sponsors National Night Out. The event brings residents and law enforcement together to heighten crime and drug prevention and build participation in local anti-crime programs.

"National Night Out is a great opportunity for residents to meet their local law enforcement team," says Lieutenant Kevin Beggs of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. "This event sends the message to criminals that residents and law enforcement are working together to fight crime."

Representatives from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, La Mirada Public Safety Team, Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), and the Neighborhood Water Program will attend the event. Free fingerprinting for kids will also be available at the Public Safety booth.
