Winter Youth Sports Leagues in La Mirada
Register now for youth sports leagues offered by the City of La Mirada. Recreational youth sports offered for the winter season include Basketball and Indoor Soccer (Futsal). Children ages 5 to 17 are invited to participate.
La Mirada’s Youth Basketball League is non-competitive and designed for recreational play. Coaches teach the fundamentals of the sport and emphasize teamwork, passing, and dribbling. Youth Basketball League games are played at the La Mirada Community Gymnasium. The league cost is $65 per child and includes one practice during the week and one game on the weekend.
The City’s popular Youth Futsal League is back for the winter season. This league is an excellent way for players to keep up their skills after the outdoor season. Coaches teach the fundamentals with emphasis on teamwork, passing, and kicking. The league cost is $65 per child and games are played on Saturdays at the La Mirada Community Gymnasium.
“Recreation leagues are great opportunities for players to learn the fundamentals of these sports while socializing, having fun, and exercising,” says Community Services Coordinator Josh Gire.
Players are guaranteed to play, and each player receives a uniform t-shirt and a trophy. Registration ends on Wednesday, December 27. Practices are scheduled to begin the week of January 8 and games begin the weekend of January 20. Early sign up is encouraged as space is limited.
