City Offers Residents Free Recycling Event
The City of La Mirada has partnered with EDCO to offer La Mirada residents a free paper shredding, e-waste collection, and mulch distribution event on Saturday, April 27 from 9 a.m. to noon. The event will be held at the La Mirada Community Gymnasium parking lot, located at 15105 Alicante Road.
Residents will have the opportunity to shred up to three banker boxes (10”x12”x15”) of personal information on site. Unwanted electronics, such as computer monitors and televisions, will also be collected. Household hazardous waste will not be accepted at this event.
The mulch distribution will be a self-serve, self-loading service. Residents must bring their own cans/bags and shovel. A limit of three cans/bags per vehicle will be enforced. Participants are requested to bring a tarp to cover the material if bringing an open truck or trailer.
This event is limited to La Mirada residents only. Proof of residency (i.e. driver’s license or a utility bill) will be required. For additional information, contact the Public Works Department at (562) 902-2385.
