The La Mirada Community
Gardens are located behind the Mount Olive Lutheran Church on Biola
Avenue on one acre of land consisting of 42-plot community gardens and the
compost demonstration site.
The gardens are open to all residents of La Mirada on an
annual basis. Each gardener is
assigned a portion of land to cultivate, and charge an annual fee of $45.
The fee helps pay for the use of water and land.
The La Mirada Community Gardens are currently at full
capacity. The Community Services
Department maintains a waiting list for those interested in obtaining a plot.
Each gardener must abide by a set of rules and regulations and the City
ultimately retains control over access and use.
