The newly opened La Mirada Resource Center in the City's Civic Center Plaza is home to a vast array of recreation and social services.  The Family Resource and Computer Center, located on the lower level of the La Mirada Resource Center, is a new site for Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Los Angeles (CCCS-LA). With the addition of the La Mirada site, CCCS-LA has 17 sites throughout Los Angeles County.

CCCS-LA provides an alternative to filing bankruptcy and offers debt counseling and advice to the consumer who is having financial difficulty.  The counseling is designed to offer a clear picture of what is being spent and what should be spent.  Information is available on how to stay financially on track or how to get financially back on track.  Services include budget counseling, debt management, educational workshops, and housing counseling.  CCCS-LA is a HUD approved agency.

The La Mirada Resource Center has a trained bilingual counselor with approximately 15 years of work experience in the consumer financial field.  Counseling services are available Tuesdays and Thursdays on an appointment only basis and can be arranged by calling (800) 550-2227.  Services are provided free of charge.
