MEALS ON WHEELS La Mirada Meals on Wheels motto: “Service with Friendship” is carried out by caring volunteers who use their own cars and fuel in order to help clients. In addition to delivering meals, volunteers provide daily visits to clients who sometimes don’t see anyone else all day. This personal contact is what “Service with Friendship” is all about. The Meals on Wheels Program allows the elderly, disabled, and chronically or temporarily ill individuals to remain self-sufficient in their own homes by supplying them with nourishing meals at a nominal cost. Meals on Wheels also helps family members of clients have peace of mind in knowing that their loved ones are being looked after each day. For more information, call (562) 943-0037. |
