Redevelopment Agency Projects

The La Mirada Redevelopment Agency has over 30 years of experience in revitalizing industrial, commercial and retail areas in the community. A partial listing of Agency accomplishments include:

Breezewood Village
The La Mirada Redevelopment Agency, in partnership with Thomas Safran & Associates constructed a 120-unit senior apartment complex consisting of 20 craftsman style one and two-story buildings in a garden courtyard arrangement. The Agency partnered with the developer through the use of the Agency's 20% Set-Aside Funds. Agency funds assisted with land acquisition, tenant relocation, and building demolition. Read more

Gateway Center
The 29-acre mixed-use project is a freeway oriented business center featuring hotels, upscale restaurants, multi-level office buildings, and commercial uses.

La Mirada Business Park 
The La Mirada Redevelopment Agency worked with Ford Motor Land Development Corporation and Catellus Development to develop a modern 87-acre business park for light industrial and warehouse distribution uses. Tenants include: US Foodservice, Xpedx, Shaw Carpet, Tomarco Contractor Specialties, Beaulieu Carpet, and Bralco Metals. Read more

La Mirada Corporate Center
This 40-acre master planned business park contains 800,000-square-feet of light industrial/corporate office space by Hayes Development Company. The La Mirada Redevelopment Agency participated in this project through a land write-down. Read more

La Mirada Theatre Center
The Agency played an active role in transforming the former 70-acre Outlet Mall into a mixed-use development with 300,000 square-feet of commercial/retail space on 36 acres and 237 single-family residences on 34 acres.  Tenants include: La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts, Albertsons, CVS Pharmacy, LA Fitness, Toys R Us, Sizzler Restaruant, Chuck E. Cheese, Panera Bread, Starbucks and a multi-screen movie theatre. Read more

Green Hills Plaza
This 90,787 square-foot shopping center replaced a blighted and defunct commercial area.  This modern shopping center is located along the Imperial Highway Corridor.  The Agency worked closely with the developer of this project to create an attractive neighborhood center.  Tenants include: Stein Mart, Fresh & Easy, CVS Pharmacy, Subway and Curves. Business Attraction Efforts

The City of La Mirada is expanding its efforts to revamp commercial centers, enhance its industrial area and expand housing opportunities.  Proposed improvements will have a major positive impact on the community.  The City of La Mirada is seeking new retailers for locations throughtout the Imperial Highway Corridor.  Plentiful opportunities exist for retailers seeking existing space within the shopping centers.  In addition, the City, through its Redevelopment Agency, is interested in partnering with developers and key commercial tenants to redevelop several outdated centers.  Centers along the Imperial Highway Corridor Include:

La Mirada Towne Center
The La Mirada Town Center is located at the northeast corner of Santa Gertrudes and Imperial Highway.  The recently painted shopping center provides excellent visibility to commuters and is frequented by local residents.  Currently the site is anchored by Savers.  Read more

Green Hills Plaza Southeast
Green Hills Plaza Southeast is within the Merged Redevelopment Project Area and is located at the southeast corner of Santa Gertrudes Avenue and Imperial Highway.  The ten-acre site offers ample parking and excellent accessiblitity and is currently anchored by Marshalls and Rite Aid.  Read more

Home Depot Shopping Center
The Home Depot Shopping Center is located at the northeast corner of La Mirada Boulevard and Imperial Highway.  The fifteen-acre center is in a prime location and offers excellent visibility and ample parking.  The center is anchored by Home Depot and Auto Zone.  Read more

Crossroads Shopping Center
The Crossroads Shopping Center is located between Telegraph Road and La Mirada Boulevard on Imperial Highway.  The site is easily accessible and provides excellent visibility to commuters along the highly traveled arterial roadways.  The center is over nine acres in size and tenants include Banco Popular, Bank of America and Southern California Pizza.  Read more

Stater Bros. Center
Stater Bros. Center is located at the southeast corner of La Mirada Boulevard and Imperial Highway.  The center benefits from easy access and is in close proximity to a  medical center and a major university.  The center's tenants include Stater Bros., Round Table Pizza, Midori Japanese Restaurant and Burger King.  Read more

Imperial Plaza
Imperial Plaza is located along the Imperial Highway Corridor west of Valley View Avenue.  The site recently received facade improvements including new paint and signage.  Attractive high density housing is located adjacent to the shopping center.  Current tenants include Big Lots and KFC.  Read more

Valley View/Imperial Highway Center
This center is located at the southwest corner of Valley View Avenue and Imperial Highway.  The center offers ample parking, high visibility and easy access to commuters along the hgihtly traveled Imperial Corridor.  Current tenants include Bestway Supermarket, Work Out World, Bank of the West, and Yum Yum Donuts.
