The City of La Mirada recently held its General Municipal Election on March 3, 2009 to fill two City Council seats. City Councilmember Susan Tripp was re-elected to the City Council, while Gabe Garcia was elected to serve his first term of office. Measure "A" related to the Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT) also passed by 63% of voters supporting the Measure. Measure "A" increases the City's TOT from seven percent to nine percent effective January 1, 2010, and to ten percent effective January 1, 2013.
The City's next election will be held in March 2011.
