When are City Council meetings held?

Regular City Council and Redevelopment Agency meetings are held the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers located in City Hall.   

City Council Study Session meetings are held the first and third Tuesdays of each month at 6:30 p.m. in City Hall, Conference Room 1.

What licenses do I need to start a business?

A Business License is required for all entities doing business within La Mirada’s city limits. Business License applications are available at City Hall. For Business License and fee information, call (562) 943-0131, extension 2331. 

What types of construction projects require a permit?

Most major projects will require a permit of some kind to ensure that all new construction building improvements meet minimum construction standards to protect occupants. Permits may be obtained at the City’s Building and Safety Division located in City Hall. For more information on the permitting process, call (562) 943-0131, extension 2346. 

How do I report graffiti or other types of vandalism?

The City proactively removes graffiti from public property and the right-of-way. Residents and businesses can assist the La Mirada Public Safety Team by reporting graffiti to the Graffiti Hotline at (562) 943-1557 or (714) 522-5858.

Does the City of La Mirada have a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training program?

Yes. CERT classes are offered throughout the year. CERT Training gives participants the skills to assist others in an emergency. The course covers topics such as emergency preparedness, fire safety, light search and rescue, and disaster medical operations. The training is available to residents at least 18 years of age. How do I register for recreation classes and activities?

Registration for classes and activities may be completed in person at the Resource Center, Activity Center, Gymnasium or Splash!. Registration may also be completed through REConnect offered through the City's website.  To obtain a REConnect pin number contact the Community Services Department at (562) 943-7277.   Click here to register for a recreation class or activity.
