Professional and amateur photographers of all ages are eligible to submit entries.
WHAT TYPES OF PHOTOGRAPHS ARE ELIGIBLE
Photographs must be taken in La Mirada and within a year of the deadline. Winning images will be determined by creativity, technical quality and capacity for communicating their view of La Mirada. Photos will also be separated into two age categories: 17 & under and 18 & over. Cropping and minor burning, dodging and/or color correction are acceptable. High dynamic range images (HDR) and stitched panoramas will NOT be accepted. Any other significant modifications to the original photograph are not permitted, and will result in disqualification.
HOW TO ENTER
Complete a separate entry form for each photo submitted. Up to three photos may be submitted. Entry forms can be downloaded below or picked up at City Hall, Resource Center, Activity Center, Splash! or the Community Gymnasium. All photos must be received by close of business on Monday, May 6, 2013.
For prints - Attach a label to the back of each photograph with the photographer’s name, address and age. Photos may be submitted in a hard copy no smaller than 4x6 and no larger than 8x10. Send your photos to 13700 La Mirada Boulevard, La Mirada, California 90638 . Photos can also be delivered to City Hall, Resource Center, Activity Center, Splash! or the Community Gymnasium during regular business hours. Photos will not be returned.
For digital images - photographs must be in .jpeg, .jpg, or .gif of at least 300 dpi and may not be larger then 8mb. Include photographer’s name, address and age in the email. Submit digital photos to photocontest@cityoflamirada.org .
