Los Angeles County Fire Department Fire protection and emergency medical services for the City of La Mirada are provided by the
Los Angeles County Fire Department. The Department is the largest County operation in the nation with more than 2,500 uniformed and 400 civilian personnel. Moreover, County firefighter and command personnel service two million citizens in a 3,177 square mile area.
The personnel and first alarm equipment at Station 49, located at 13820 La Mirada Boulevard, and Station 194, located at 13540 S. Beach Boulevard, are capable of handling most fires in the city. In the event of a large fire or major disaster, the resources of other nearby stations and ultimately the entire County Fire Department is available.
The Fire Department considers every resident and business to be an integral part of the City's fire safety team. In addition to fire prevention programs, the Department's objectives are fire fighting and paramedic services. Non-fire functions include disaster services and hazardous material response.
