BUSINESS WATCH

The Business Watch program works directly with businesses in the City to open lines of communication between the City and its business community.  The Public Safety Team is personally contacting businesses to determine ways La Mirada can work with local businesses to improve safety.

La Mirada’s quality of life is attributed to its balance of quality residential housing and a strong viable business community.  Businesses located in the industrial area generate more than 40 percent of the City’s sales tax revenue.  These revenues are used to fund municipal services including recreation classes, youth and adult sorts programs, childcare, social services, street repair, and tree trimming.

Business Watch meetings are held and cover topics such as workplace violence, preventing business fraud, preventing burglary and theft, and controlling robbery, shoplifting, and forgery.  Meetings are open to all businesses in La Mirada and include an open forum for business owner’s questions.  For more information regarding the Business Watch Program or to become a volunteer member of the Business Watch Program contact the La Mirada Community Sheriff’s Station at (562) 902-2960 or click here to complete a survey.
