COMMUNITY GANG AND DRUG TASK FORCE

            A Community-wide Gang and Drug Task Force meets monthly to  identify and discuss youth-related crime trends and ways to reduce gang and drug violence.  Representatives of local schools, churches, social service agencies, law enforcement officials, the District Attorney’s Office, courts, and recreation officials participate in the task force. 

NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH ADVISORY COMMITTEE

            The Neighborhood Watch Advisory Committee is made up district coordinators 0who are involved with the Neighborhood Watch Program.  Committee members are responsible for acting liaisons between their district members of the city, sharing ideas for the Neighborhood Watch Newsletter, hosting the Holiday Home Decorating Contest, and recruiting new Neighborhood Watch volunteers.

PUBLIC SAFETY COMMISSION

            The City of La Mirada’s Public Safety Commission is made up of five volunteers appointed by the La Mirada City Council.  The five commissioners are an advisory board and offer recommendations regarding public safety issues.  The Commission is concerned with law enforcement, fire, and traffic safety.

            The Public Safety Commission meets at City Hall, 13700 La Mirada Boulevard, on the fourth Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m.  Meetings are open to the public and the agenda fourth meeting is posted at City Hall 72 hours prior to the meeting.  Each meeting includes a public comment period in which the public may present issues regarding public safety to the Commission for its review.
