Living With Coyotes
Coyote sightings are common throughout Southern California, even in developed areas. Simply seeing a coyote is not a problem as long as the coyote keeps its distance.
If approached by a coyote, stand tall, wave your arms, and make noise, to scare it away. Do not run away or turn your back on a coyote.
There are several things residents can do to minimize a potential conflict or encounter with a coyote. Some include keeping landscaping trimmed to avoid areas in which wildlife can hide and securing garbage.
