City Council Public Hearing Notice for their regular meeting on January 13, 2026

General Plan Amendment 2025-01: a request to amend the official General Plan Land Use Map to redesignate ten parcels on two sites totaling approximately 36.9 acres of land.  The action would change 20.4 acres from Industrial to Commercial Land Use Designation and 16.5 acres from Commercial to Industrial Land Use Designation.  The request includes a finding that the proposed amendments are covered under a Programmatic Negative Declaration in compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).

Zoning Ordinance Amendment No. 58: a request to amend the official Zoning Map to rezone ten parcels on two sites totaling approximately 36.9 acres of land.  The action would change 20.4 acres from Manufacturing to a Commercial-Freeway Zoning Designation and 16.5 acres from Commercial-Freeway to Industrial Zoning Designation aligning the Zoning Designations with the proposed General Plan Amendment 2025-01.  The request includes a finding that the proposed zone changes are covered under a Programmatic Negative Declaration in compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). 

Summary of Interim Ordinance No. 745-U

On November 25, 2025, the City of La Mirada City Council adopted Interim Ordinance No. 745-U approving a prohibition on the establishment, implementation, or operation (temporary or permanent) of discount stores and declaring the urgency thereof.
