Background: Asphalt concrete pavement used for roadways and parking lots is one of the City’s largest assets.  Regular pavement maintenance is required in order to achieve the full, useful life of the pavement.  Slurry sealing the pavement is an effective preventive maintenance strategy.  The slurry seal coating provides a protective layer and wearing course for the original pavement structure.

Slurry seal is typically applied every seven years.

Work

This project included crack seal, asphalt patch repairs, application of slurry seal, and replacement of pavement legends and striping.

Project Area

The project area was Santa Gertrudes Avenue from Lemon Drive to La Mirada Boulevard and Hillsborough Drive from Alicante Road to Beach Boulevard.
