Background: Asphalt concrete pavement used for roadways and parking lots is one of the City’s largest assets. Regular pavement maintenance is required in order to achieve the full, useful life of the pavement. Slurry sealing the pavement is an effective preventive maintenance strategy. The slurry seal coating provides a protective layer and wearing course for the original pavement structure.
Imperial Highway from Wicker Drive to east city limits and Artesia Boulevard from Valley View Avenue to Knott Avenue were due for a slurry seal pavement maintenance application.

This project included the application of slurry seal and replacement of pavement legends and striping.
