Background: Many of the streets in La Mirada were constructed approximately 50 years ago and, while they have received preventative maintenance, the pavement has exceeded its useful life and required rehabilitation. This project was the fourth phase of the City’s residential street rehabilitation projects to be funded by Measure I.
Work
The project included pavement rehabilitation, replacement of damaged curb, gutter, sidewalk and driveway aprons, upgrades to existing and placement of new handicap curb access ramps, and removal and replacement of existing slotted cross gutters.
Project Area
The project area included all local, public streets bounded by Rosecrans Avenue, Biola Avenue, Roma Drive, Whiterock Drive, Alicante Road and the east City limit. Rosecrans Avenue, Biola Avenue, La Mirada Boulevard, Adelfa Drive, Alicante Road, Santa Gertrudes Avenue and Beach Boulevard were not part of this project.
